Norwich have allowed striker Jamie Cureton to join Championship rivals Barnsley on a three-month loan deal.
Cureton rejoined the Canaries in the summer of 2007 but has fallen out of favour under manager Glenn Roeder this season, making just three starts.
Roeder said: "Jamie asked to go out on loan a month ago. At the time it didn't suit us to let him go but he has become frustrated by the lack of first-team action."
He added: "Jamie did well for the club last year in a very difficult time for the club and we will just have to wait and see what happens long-term when the three months is up."
