Colin Calderwood singled out Nathan Tyson for special mention after his striker ended his three-month goal drought in the 2-2 draw at Bristol City.
Tyson fired his first goal since August 23 against Watford to put Forest ahead early in the second half, but Liam Fontaine earned City a point with an 80th-minute equaliser. Joe Garner had given Forest an 11th-minute lead before Marvin Elliott levelled for the home side before the break.
Calderwood said: "Nathan Tyson was always a threat for us. We have a young and developing side who are getting better all the time."
Tyson's goal was only his second of the season after a gap of three months and he said: "I can't put my finger on why I've not been scoring.
"It's a confidence thing and maybe the step up to the Championship has meant I have been getting fewer chances."
