Northampton have been dealt a blow after on-loan midfielder Josh Walker was forced to return to parent club Middlesbrough.
Walker injured his shoulder in the 3-1 defeat to Hereford on Tuesday night and could now miss the rest of the campaign.
Manager Ian Sampson said: "Josh has had to go back to Middlesbrough."
He added: "He has got to have an operation on his dislocated shoulder and he could be out for the rest of the season."
