Watford have confirmed that Nathan Ellington has agreed a one-year loan deal with Greek club Skoda Xanthi with a view to a permanent move.

The 29-year-old striker arrived at Vicarage Road in 2007 in a £3.25m move from West Brom but failed to make an impact, scoring just five goals in 23 starts for the club.

The former Wigan player, who spent last season on loan at Championship rivals Derby, will move to the Greek Super League side on January 1.
