Watford boss Malky Mackay has revealed there is no deal in place to sign Heidar Helguson permanently at the end of the season.

The striker is back at Vicarage Road for a third spell on loan from QPR until the end of the campaign.

Helguson should be available for a permanent transfer having slipped out of favour at Rangers, but Mackay was just pleased to have kept hold of Icelander and fellow loanees Henri Lansbury and Tom Cleverley.

"He's a good addition and I'm delighted to have acquired him for the rest of the campaign," said Mackay.

He added: "Right now I'm concentrating on what's happening between now and the end of the season. The focus was on getting Heidar, Henri Lansbury and Tom Cleverley in until the end of the season."
