Tom Cleverley makes a welcome return to the Watford squad for the visit of Peterborough.

The on-loan Manchester United midfielder, who has scored 10 goals this season, missed the last three matches through suspension following his red card at Scunthorpe last month.

With Watford having lost all three of those games, Cleverley is in line to go straight back into the starting XI with Jon Harley likely to make way.

Winger Will Buckley could also be added to the squad for the first time since joining from Rochdale.

Buckley has been sidelined with a thigh injury but got another reserve run-out under his belt this week.

Jay DeMerit, Adrian Mariappa and Danny Graham all shook off minor knocks to play in Saturday's defeat by Swansea and came through unscathed.

Peterborough have a doubt over midfielder Lee Frecklington.

Frecklington was replaced at half-time in the 1-0 win over Sheffield United after picking up a calf injury and he is struggling to be fit.

Fellow midfielder Josh Simpson has recovered from his illness, however, and could replace Frecklington at Vicarage Road.

Winger Chris Whelpdale remains sidelined with a groin injury so Dominic Green could continue after being drafted into the side since returning from a loan at Chesterfield.

Defender Ryan Bennett will be out for several more weeks yet as he recovers from an ankle injury as Posh look for a first away win of the season which would drag Watford closer to the relegation zone.
