Doncaster midfielder Richie Wellens has been cleared of spitting at his Swansea counterpart Leon Britton during Rovers' 3-1 defeat at Liberty Stadium on February 21.

Wellens was charged by the Football Association but, following a hearing with the FA on Tuesday April 28, the 29-year-old was cleared of any allegations and will face no further action.

Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll said: "We are pleased that this case as now been resolved and that we had a fair hearing by the FA."

He added: "We would have abided by any decision that the FA had come to but now can get on with the football after this positive result."
