Watford youngster Marvin Sordell has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The striker was nearing the end of his two-year scholarship at Vicarage Road and has landed a full-time deal.

Academy manager Mark Warburton said: "Marvin came to us quite late and had some initial problems settling in but he`s worked very hard and done very well."

He added: "He`s displayed a good attitude, scored some good goals and has come a long way in a short period of time.

"He is still vulnerable to losing focus but the coaching staff will continue to work with him.

"Physically he`s a real threat and if he can learn the tactical side of the game he`s got a good future in the game."
