Fulham Club Profile

Fulham was formed in 1879 as Fulham St Andrew's Church Sunday School. The church is still in existence today, with a plaque commemorating the teams foundation.

Fulham's only appearance in a major showpiece came in 1975 when they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham in the FA Cup final. The club's Premier League consolidation is quite an achievement in view of the lowest ebb of the early 1990s when the club was relegated to the fourth tier of English football.

But the appointment of Micky Adams saw the Cottagers promoted again and two more promotions under Kevin Keegan and then Jean Tigana earned Fulham players a swift return to the top flight.

With just 1,000 season ticket holders and seven full-time staff during the dark days of the 1990s, Fulham's transformation is no mean feat.
