David Beckham´s slim hopes of winning his first trophy in Spain were effectively ended at Real Betis on Sunday with the England captain forced to watch from the bench as Real Madrid recorded a goalless draw.Boss Juan Ramon Lopez Caro made the surprise choice of playing Brazilian Cicinho in midfield with Michel Salgado at right-back but the changes could not inspire a result at the Bernabeu, leaving Madrid 11 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona."I don´t have to explain my team selection," Lopez Caro said. "Beckham is an exceptional player but we have a lot of players here and Cicinho had a good game. If I had to justify every starting line-up we´d be here for ever."
