Middlesbrough´s Uefa Cup hopes unravelled in Switzerland as Basle snatched a 2-0 first-leg lead in their UEFA Cup quarter-final clash.The home side struck twice inside three minutes at the end of the first half, Matias Delgado opening the scoring on 43 minutes and David Degen adding a second on the stroke of half-time.Chris Riggott hit the bar with a 51st-minute header, but then had to clear an effort from substitute Scott Chipperfield off the line.
