The Danish football authorities have applied to bring the 2009 UEFA Cup final to Copenhagen.The city hosted the prestigious event in 2000 but the match was overshadowed by street clashes between fans of Arsenal and Galatasaray.Denmark´s culture minister Martin Geertsen, who is backing the bid, told Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten: "The year 2009 would be a great year for Denmark and for Copenhagen, if UEFA would accept our application, which I hope for."
