Goals by Aleksandr Pavlenko and Roman Pavlyuchenko could not prevent Spartak Moscow slipping out of the UEFA Cup at the hands of Marseille at the last-32 stage despite a 2-0 win on the night.Having lost 3-0 in the first leg in the south of France last week, Spartak needed to produce something special at a freezing Luzhniki Stadium in the return fixture to progress. They came mighty close, Pavlenko volleying home just before half-time and Pavlyuchenko adding to the lead in the 85th minute, but OM hung on to squeeze through.
