FC Groningen have signed forward Martijn Meerdink from Eredivisie rivals AZ Alkmaar for an undisclosed fee.The Dutch international has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract with Ron Jans´ side after struggling to force his way into AZ´s first team this season.Groningen director Hans Nijland said: "AZ took a realistic position with this. The transfer of Meerdink fits within our financial structure and it is based on our conditions. Martijn also made some concessions from his contract at AZ. This shows how much he wants to play for us."
