Julien Rodriguez admits he is still haunted by the night he could have won the Champions League.

And the Rangers defender insists the only way to exorcise those demons is to finally be given the opportunity to lift the trophy. It was May 26, 2004 and Monaco knew they might never have a better chance of being crowned kings of Europe. All that stood in their way was Jose Mourinho´s Porto but Rodriguez believes Monaco´s only fault was wanting success too much.

"I played against Porto, lost 3-0 in the final, and in my head I want to play in another final," he said. "I keep playing football to play in another Champions League final, that is all I want to do. We prepared so hard for that match that it stopped us from playing an excellent match on the day."
