Javier Saviola put Sevilla in sight of a Uefa Cup semi-final spot when his two goals helped the Spanish club to a 4-1 win in their quarter-final first leg match against nine-man Zenit St Petersburg. When Alexander Kerzhakov equalised Saviola´s early strike at the end of the first half it looked as though the Russians could be in business. However, Jose Luis Marti put Sevilla ahead after the break with a penalty awarded for a professional foul which earned Zenit defender Erik Hagen a red card, before Saviola struck again.A late red card for Andrei Arshavin has made the task even more difficult for Zenit and Adriano Correia then notched a fourth in stoppage time to give Sevilla a three-goal cushion for the second leg when Zenit will be deprived of two key players in Arshavin and Hagen.
