Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson admitted Droylsden were worthy winners after watching them beat his side 2-0 in the FA Cup second round.

A Sean Newton brace put the Bloods through to the third round and although Chesterfield fans will have reason to be aggrieved after the Spireites lead 2-0 before the lights cut in their previous replay fixture - Richardson bares no grudges.

"Droylsden were the underdogs obviously being from the non-league but they worked hard and thoroughly deserved to win," said Richardson.

"They did enough to win the game and even if we had pulled it back to 2-2 I don't think we would have been able to manage in extra-time."
