Mo Marley's England side will be hoping to make an impact on the rest of Europe after the draw for the second round of UEFA's Under 19 Championship was made yesterday.

England's young bucks will face Austria, the Czech Republic and Ukraine in the second qualifying round in April after yesterday's draw at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon.

England's group games will take place on April 10-15, 2007 in Austria, with the finals three months later from July 18-29 and Marley will approach the qualifiers in confident mood after her side finished 2006 with two strong friendly performances in Iceland.

Holders Germany will face two of the sides they met on the way to winning the 2005-06 crown and up against the reigning champions, who host Group 1, will be Scotland, Sweden and Hungary.

Germany defeated Scotland 7-0 in what proved their decisive match at this stage a year ago, and in their opening finals contest they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Sweden, who were eventually edged out by Denmark.

The 2006 beaten finalists France, on home soil in Group 2, take on the Netherlands, who they defeated 1-0 in the group stage last season, plus the Republic of Ireland and Portugal.

Another fascinating set of fixtures come in Group 4, which pairs neighbours Norway and Denmark as well as Belgium, who the Danes defeated 2-1 in the finals this July. Romania stage that group, while the other team that reached the 2005-06 last four, Russia, play Finland, Poland and the home nation, Wales.

The draw was conducted by UEFA technical director Andy Roxburgh, UEFA Women's Football Committee vice-chairwoman Susanne Erlandsson and Caroline Pizzala of France, the Fair Play winners at the 2005-06 finals in Switzerland, who was presented with the trophy at the draw.

All six group winners join hosts Iceland in the final tournament along with the runners-up with the best record against the teams finishing first and third in their pool.
