West Brom midfielder Kim Do-Heon is poised to make his comeback from medial ligament damage this weekend against Blackburn after missing just four matches.
The South Korea international was stretchered off during the early stages of the 1-0 win at Middlesbrough on September 27 and there were initial fears he would be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
But he has made a rapid recovery and will be available to face Paul Ince's side at the Hawthorns after returning to full training, having only missed the clashes with Fulham, Manchester United, Hull and Newcastle.
His presence will provide a lift for Albion as they look to end a run of three successive defeats following Tuesday night's 2-1 setback at St James' Park.
West Brom manager Tony Mowbray said: "Kim is just about ready. He is now in full training and way ahead of schedule. I'm hopeful he will be ready for Saturday against Blackburn - and pushing for a place.
"This has been the first time Kim has been injured since joining us. Some players are good healers and recover very quickly while the problems of others can drag on.
"Let's hope this is a good sign for Kim and that he will recover quickly from any knocks he does get."
Kim had started four out of the opening six league games this season before suffering the injury setback.
