Carlisle manager Greg Abbott faces an anxious wait to learn the full extent of leading goalscorer Lee Miller's groin injury.

Miller, 27, has scored five goals in six matches for the Cumbrians since arriving on a free transfer from Middlesbrough in August, but was forced out of Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Chesterfield.

Abbott said: "Lee Miller going off was a big blow, but it's important that we show that he isn't the only one who can score goals."

He added: "He's had a big impact with his five goals since he arrived and we're hoping the groin problem won't be a long-term thing because it looks like we need him at the moment.

"If he's going to be missing then we look to the other lads in that position to start to show us what they can do.

"It's far too early to say what the situation is with that injury, but we should know more once it is properly assessed."
