Sam Baldock's first-half double helped classy MK Dons into the Southern Section semi-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in a 3-1 win over Northampton.

The 20-year-old striker capitalised on a rare start to net his first goals of the season after Aaron Wilbraham's early opener, while Steve Guinan pulled a goal back for the lacklustre Cobblers.

Hereford goalkeeper Adam Bartlett saved three penalties in a 3-2 shoot-out victory (following the 1-1 draw) to earn his side's progress.

Hereford went ahead when Mark Marshall laid back the chance for Leon Constantine to fire into the bottom corner in the 26th minute.

And in added time a shot from home midfielder Jason Demetriou was deflected past Bartlett to bring about the penalty shoot-out.

Fraser Forster was the hero for Norwich as he saved Craig Easton's penalty to earn a 5-3 shoot-out victory over Swindon.

The goalkeeper made the vital save after a drab affair, which the defences dominating throughout the game, had disappointingly ended goalless after 90 minutes.
