Dean Beckwith is aiming to fire Northampton back into League One at the first attempt after completing his move to Sixfields.

The centre-half knows what it takes to get out of League Two having achieved the feat with Hereford and is confident he can do it again in his new club.

He told the Cobblers' official website: "League Two is a very difficult division to get out of. There are tough games in every league but especially so in League Two where every game is a battle."

He added: "There are some teams who like to get the ball down and play as we do but we are ready for a battle.

"I was surprised that Northampton went down last year but I think the squad here is good and there is definitely enough quality in the squad to get us out of League Two."
