Black Cats bring some perspective

Three games into the league season and Colchester are unbeaten! A win and two draws sees the Us in a healthy ninth place in League One. This positive start to the league campaign was followed by a predictable, if slightly disappointing 2-0 defeat to shaky Sunderland in the Carling Cup. Despite having to play away, you felt that the Premier League side were vulnerable and statistics highlight this as Colchester outplayed them in certain areas. Sadly, the erratic but dangerous Darren Bent showed that, to progress, the visitors would have needed some clinical, Premier League finishing. Never mind, we can, as the old saying goes, concentrate on the League now and look to build on our promising start that was highlighted by the away win at Rochdale. Ian Henderson proved a handful to the home side throughout the game and deserved to be the match-winner with his effort six minutes from time.
