Leicester's 3-1 victory leaves Hereford on the brink of a return to League Two following their 26th defeat of the campaign.

Steve Guinan had put Hereford in front from the penalty spot in the 28th minute, but Matt Oakley led the Foxes' revival with a superbly-taken free-kick for the equaliser in the 35th minute, with Lloyd Dyer and Steve Howard clinching victory with second-half strikes.

"Their second goal absolutely destroyed us - the manner of it - and from then on you could see them go up a notch," said Hereford manager Graham Turner.

"I could quite understand the feeling of the players when they see a goal like that go in.

"The second one turned the game, the third was another poor defensive effort trying to keep the ball out of the net.

"But at this level you cannot concede goals like we have done."
