Norwich midfielders Sammy Clingan and Darel Russell will miss the club's pre-season tour of Scotland, which starts on Sunday.

Neither player figured for the Canaries in their 7-2 friendly win over Dartford earlier in the week and assistant boss Ian Butterworth insists the pair will stay behind after attracting interest from other clubs.

He told First News: "There's obviously been interest in Sammy and Darel and we felt it was in the best interests of everyone concerned if they stayed at Colney to train and didn't travel with the squad."

He added: "It's important for everyone in Scotland to be fully focused on continuing our pre-season preparations."

Defender Dejan Stefanovic will also miss the trip as he continues to recover from his anterior cruciate ligament injury.
