Carlisle’s brush with relegation last season hasn’t deterred their support, as season ticket sales have virtually doubled compared to the same stage in 2008.
One thousand and one hundred have been sold, compared with 636 at the same period last year, which saw
Carlisle secure their League One future with a final-day 2-0 win over
Millwall.
“To sell that many season tickets is fantastic and I want to say a big thank you to the fans,” said manager Greg Abbott to the News & Star.
“We’re trying to assemble a squad that might be trimmed in terms of numbers but will be miles better in terms of quality.
“Now we’ve survived what we thought was the worst that could have happened to us, we hope we can start next season in the same manner as our performance in the Millwall game.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and if we can earn that support it would be great, but we have got to make sure the fans enjoy coming and we hope we can be a really good side at home.
“We honestly believe we will be a good side next season and that is the message we want to give the fans.”
