Huddersfield manager Lee Clark has expressed his admiration for rival Jim Gannon after the Stockport boss turned down a switch to manage League One rivals Brighton.
Gannon, who recently described his position at Edgeley Park as 'untenable', decided not to move south after talking to Brighton owner Dick Knight.
"I have got a lot of respect for their manager," said Clark. "He is in a difficult position as a manager. I think it has got to be right for him."
Clark believes the fact Gannon decided not to join Brighton will inspire Stockport's players and make the game even more difficult than it might have been for the Terriers.
"I think it will have a positive effect so it is going to be even tougher for us," he added.
