Southend have confirmed that the courts have dismissed any action against the club after they cleared a tax bill of £2.1million.

The Shrimpers were given a stay of execution by the high court on Wednesday after pledging to repay, in full, the amount owed to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

And in a statement issued on Monday afternoon, the club confirmed that all action had been dismissed at a morning hearing following the release of funds by chairman Ron Martin over the weekend.

The club added that the matter had now been brought to a close.
