Out-of-contract Northampton defender Jason Crowe could be on the verge of a move to Brighton after holding talks with Seagulls boss Russell Slade.

The Cobblers have offered the 30-year-old a new deal but Crowe is expected to leave Sixfields this summer, with Millwall and Norwich also thought to be interested in securing his signature.

He told the Northampton Chronicle: "I'm a free agent and I've been to Brighton to see Russell. That's all I'm saying at this stage.

Slade said: "Jason is very versatile. I know all about him. We are looking at targets and Jason is on that list.

"I'm talking to players. I've had a chat with probably six or seven players in different positions."
