Stockport's two-year stint in League One is over after their 3-1 defeat at home to Yeovil confirmed their relegation.

The Glovers were in total command in the first half as they raced two goals clear.

Gavin Tomlin had already gone close before the visitors scored in the 21st minute. Andy Welsh's free-kick was not cleared and Dean Bowditch was left with time and space to smash home clinically from 12 yards.

The lead was doubled 11 minutes later as more indecision in the Stockport defence let in Gavin Williams and he slotted home a neat half-volley from just outside the six-yard box.

Just before the break Stockport had Mat Sadler's goal-bound header hacked off the line by Tomlin.

Shortly after the restart JP Kalala went close for the visitors as he volleyed inches over.

The Glovers' victory was finally wrapped up in the 74th minute. Substitute Aidan Downes crossed from the left and Williams met the ball with a fine glancing header which easily beat Owain fon Williams.

George Donnelly's late consolation goal proved too little too late for Stockport.
