Aaron Wilbraham scored a hat-trick for MK Dons as they beat Cheltenham 5-3 at Whaddon Road to keep up the pressure on Coca-Cola League One leaders Leicester.
Jemal Johnson's wonder strike put the visitors ahead before Wilbraham scored three in 15 minutes to make it 4-0.
Damian Spencer pulled one back for Cheltenham before Johnson restored Dons' four-goal cushion. Spencer scored from close range and completed his hat-trick with a late penalty but the away side held on for the win to stay 10 points behind the Foxes.
Lloyd Dyer's second-half strike gave Leicester a 2-1 win at Northampton to extend their unbeaten run to 15 matches.
Steve Howard's penalty cancelled out Leon Constantine's opener before Dyer drilled home Tom Cleverley's cross to seal the points.
Gary Hooper's second-half double gave Scunthorpe a 2-1 win at Millwall to move the Iron into third.
Gary Alexander had given Millwall the lead before Hooper scored from close range to level after 73 minutes.
He then completed the win with a 20-yard drive two minutes from time to move them one point behind MK Dons.
Meanwhile, Leeds' promotion hopes took another blow as they were beaten 1-0 at Walsall, while Calvin Andrew's last-minute header gave Brighton a 2-1 win at Hartlepool to lift the Seagulls out of the relegation zone.
