Debutant Nathan Eccleston scored the only goal of the game as Huddersfield recorded a 1-0 victory at Yeovil.

The on-loan Liverpool forward fired the Terriers in front in the 23rd minute, firing into an open net after Jordan Rhodes had been denied by Glovers keeper Alex McCarthy.

Yeovil were handed a golden chance to equalise on the stroke of half-time when Ryan Mason was fouled in the box by Neal Trotman, but Dean Bowditch blasted the resulting spot-kick over the bar.

The Glovers pressed for an equaliser late on and were unlucky when substitute Gavin Tomlin fired just wide of the far post.

Tomlin then created a chance for Andy Welsh, but the substitute also failed to test Alex Smithies in the Huddersfield goal.
