England's players will walk out against Slovakia later this month with a new version of the 'Three Lions' crest on their shirts.
The new crest is lighter-blue and has the three lions and the Tudor roses re-drawn with the idea of making it stand out more.
Jonathan Hill, the Football Association's group commercial director, said: "We have taken great care in updating the FA's 'Three Lions' crest."
He added: "The new designs have been modernised for today's digital world, whilst also ensuring that they reflect the rich heritage and traditions of the crest - particularly the 1948-49 version."
The crest was first worn by England players in the world's first international match, between England and Scotland in Glasgow in 1872, nine years after the FA was formed.
The new crest will be worn for the first time on March 28 against Slovakia at Wembley.
