Exeter are boosted by the return of centre-half Troy Archibald-Henville ahead of their home game against Southampton.

The 21-year-old completed a permanent transfer from Tottenham on Monday following a successful six-month loan spell with the Grecians.

Archibald-Henville will battle for a place with veteran Rob Edwards, who returned from injury to partner skipper Matt Taylor in the heart of defence in last weekend's 1-1 draw against MK Dons.

Joe Burnell will be hoping to earn a starting role after making his debut as a 79th-minute replacement for Edwards at stadium:mk.

Striker Barry Corr is also vying for a start after he also came off the bench to grab a late equaliser for Paul Tisdale's men.

It remains to be seen who will play in goal for Exeter after Andy Marriott was recalled at the expense of regular number one Paul Jones last time out.

Jason Puncheon will be added to the Southampton squad.

The versatile midfielder will be hoping to make his debut after completing his switch from Plymouth last week.

Adam Lallana has shaken off the knock which kept him out of last weekend's 2-0 win over Stockport and fellow midfielder Lloyd James has recovered from an ankle injury.

Boss Alan Pardew therefore has a number of selection dilemmas with Lee Holmes, Paul Wotton, Michail Antonio and Morgan Schneiderlin all sweating on their places.

Skipper Dean Hammond (calf), full-back Graeme Murty (ankle) and striker David Connolly (groin) are still on the sidelines.

Defender Dan Seaborne returns to the Devon club a month after leaving to join Saints.
