Southampton midfielder Simon Gillett is in talks over a permanent move to Doncaster when the transfer window reopens.
The 24-year-old has extended his loan spell from Saints for another month and Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll will offer him a permanent deal in January.
"We are in the process of offering Simon a contract," O'Driscoll told Rovers Player.
"I believe that the loan has been extended because it currently ends on December 12, so we have extended that into January and once the window opens we'd very much like to take him on a permanent contract.
"Negotiations are ongoing at the minute."
