Leeds boss Simon Grayson is hopeful Carl Dickinson may return to Elland Road, but says namesake Liam Dickinson's future lies elsewhere.
Carl Dickinson has completed his loan spell with the Whites and has returned to parent club Stoke to fight for his place.
Grayson told the United official website: "Carl did well for us and we were pleased with him. It may be that a situation may arise where we could do something else later in the season - we'll have to wait and see how things go."
Meanwhile, Leeds' attempts to recruit striker Liam Dickinson, who they failed to sign on deadline day, have ended due to an injury.
Grayson added: "It was a a bizarre sequence of events after deadline day in that he was injured, so the first thing is for him to get fit again."
