Exeter have confirmed they are holding talks with Bristol Rovers defender Danny Coles about a possible move to St James Park.
The 29-year-old, who made 41 appearances for Rovers during the season just gone, could team back up with Grecians manager Paul Tisdale, who he knows from his days as a trainee at Bristol City.
Coles made nearly 200 appearances during a six-year spell at Ashton Gate before joining Hull for £200,000 in 2005.
He arrived at Rovers initially on loan in November 2007 and made the move permanent two months later.
