Heinze continues comeback

By PA Sport  April 25, 2006
Gabriel Heinze completed another 82 minutes of his comeback from cruciate ligament surgery and celebrated by collecting his first medal since winning Olympic Gold in Athens.

A 3-2 Manchester Senior Cup final triumph over Oldham at Boundary Park may be far removed from the World Cup stage on which Heinze hopes to perform for Argentina this summer but the defender will be grateful for the thorough workout nonetheless.

Heinze even picked up a second half booking as a result of his running battle with Latics striker Chris Hall and although he appeared to pick up a knock at one stage and then seemed to feel some tenderness in his groin, he looked happy enough as he was replaced late on.
