Junior Agogo is one of the top strikers in League One yet his record for Nottingham Forest in recent weeks has not matched his goalscoring feats from the first half of the season. But after being left out of the side last month and coming back for the memorable win at in-form Carlisle last week, Agogo has rediscovered his form and is back among the goals. The Ghana striker went to the African Cup of Nations earlier this year and when he came back to play for Forest he suffered a self-confessed loss of form. But Agogo never lost belief and his double strike against Cheltenham at the weekend took his tally for the season to 13 to keep Forest's promotion push on track - even if they have to get there through the play-offs. Agogo spoke to givemefootball's Ian Clarkson and told him that as long as he is in Forest's starting line-up, there is always a chance he will find the net.

Q:IT MUST HAVE BEEN GOOD TO REDISCOVER YOUR SCORING FORM AGAIN ON SATURDAY?

A:I was thinking I'd got a hat-trick at the end, it was a good header but the goalkeeper made a good save too. It would have been good to add to the hat-trick I scored on the opening day of the season when I got one against Gillingham. We play again on Tuesday against Bristol Rovers so maybe I can get a couple more. But it was good to start scoring again.

Q:THE GOALS HAVE BEEN A WHILE COMING, BUT HOW DID YOU RATE THEM?

A:For the first one, I was in the right place at the right time, and I thought the defender was going to miss it. I nutmegged one of their guys for the second goals so that felt good as well. I was a bit unlucky but as long as I'm in the right place I'm satisfied.

Q:FOREST LOOK GOOD FOR A PLAY-OFF PLACE NOW AFTER BEATING CARLISLE AND CHELTENHAM, IS IT TOO LATE TO THINK ABOUT AUTOMATIC PROMOTION NOW?

A:As for the teams above us, if we can keep winning who knows what can happen. All we can do is look for the three points and not worry about what's happening with everyone else. We'll put as much pressure on Carlisle as we can. Let's see what happens at the end of the season, we just have to keep the momentum going. There are six games left and all kinds of things can happen. We need a bit of luck too of course.

Q:YOU WERE LEFT OUT OF THE SIDE AFTER COMING BACK FROM THE AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS; DID THAT TOURNAMENT DISRUPT YOUR SEASON?

A:I don't think so because I always knew I was going there to represent my country, and I felt I had a good tournament. Now I'm back and all I'm thinking about is promotion. I want to do it for the team and the fans. I just want to keep scoring goals now and do what I can over these last few games.

Q:WHEN YOU WERE LEFT OUT YOU MUST HAVE BELIEVED YOU WOULD COME BACK AND SCORE GOALS BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON?

A:I was scoring one goal in three games but then I got dropped. It wasn't that the goals had dried up; it's just that I wasn't playing. My ratio from when I start a game speaks for itself. So if I'm starting and scoring, I'm happy. Strikers always look at things in terms of goals per game and I'm no different. I'm in good form again now. It was decided to do other things but that's in the past now, I'm back in the team and I want to keep my place.
