Oldham boss Joe Royle has cut Steve Kabba's loan spell short and the striker has returned to Watford.
The 28-year-old made eight appearances for the Latics and was set to remain at Boundary Park until the end of the season.
Kabba had returned from injury for the Easter programme of fixtures but Royle told Oldham's official website: "I sat down with Steven and told him I wanted to look at other options."
He added: "He was not going to figure in my team any more before the end of the season so it is best for all parties that he returns to Watford."
