Norwich manager Paul Lambert hailed the contribution of midfielder Wes Hoolahan as Norwich made it eight home wins on the trot with a 2-0 victory over Millwall.

Hoolahan scored one brilliantly taken goal and set up another for Grant Holt with a sublime piece of skill to help the Canaries move to within two points of second-placed Charlton.

"The way he picked out Grant Holt for the second goal was world-class," said Lambert.

"He has got great awareness of what is happening around him and he'll also pick a path.

"When he's on top of his game Wes is virtually unplayable. He is someone who can make things happen and he can also score goals, that's 13 he has got for us now which is a great return at this stage of the season.

"He was brilliant but it doesn't really surprise me. It's basically the same player I saw when I signed him for Livingston all those years ago."
