Chief executive Colin Lee has expressed his delight at penning a new one-year rolling contract with Torquay.

Torquay-born Lee, 56, was a centre-forward for United, Tottenham and Chelsea in his playing days and a former manager of Wolves and Walsall.

"My contract was due to expire in May and I just wanted some assurances we - the club and I - were going to take the next steps forward together," he said.

"I think the term we have negotiated - a one-year rolling deal - safeguards the club and myself and obviously I am pleased to have sorted something out.

"It is about continuity. We are going in the right direction here at the club. We won promotion on the field last season and we want to get it right off the field."
