Dundee United manager Craig Levein is hoping to sign Leicester midfielder James Wesolowski on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old - who made his Foxes debut under Levein when he was in charge at the Walkers Stadium - moved to Tannadice on loan in January transfer window and impressed before having his spell cut short by a hamstring injury.

And Levein told the Leicester Mercury: "Considering James wasn't fit and had been out for so long with injury, I think he did a really good job for us. His fitness gradually got better and he was having more influence on games."

He added: "Hopefully, we will see him back again next season if we can do a deal with Leicester.

"We have an option on him, so I will speak to his club and see what happens from there."
