MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven looks set to leave the club after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.

The Scot, forced to miss the play-offs last season after breaking his foot in training, was offered a deal towards the end of last season, but is now free to speak to other clubs.

"Peter has been an unbelievable servant to this football club and while I'm sad that it has come to this, I have the utmost respect for Peter," said Dons manager Karl Robinson.

"Due to the relationship the club and I have with Peter we will continue to support him during his rehabilitation and ensure he returns to fitness."

Leven has made 105 appearances for the Dons since arriving from Chesterfield in the summer of 2008.
