Millwall have secured the services of striker Gary Alexander for a further two years.

The 29-year-old has signed a new deal with the club after scoring 13 goals so far this season, helping them to a place in the League One play-offs.

The former Hull forward joins team-mates Neil Harris, Andy Frampton and Scott Barron in committing their futures to the Lions.

"It took a while to sort out and sign but it is done now so happy days," Alexander, who scored twice in Saturday's 2-1 win over Leyton Orient, told the club's official website.

"It is nice to be linked with other clubs but at the end of the day I am a South Londoner and my family are all around here and I wanted to stay.

"When Millwall offered me the chance to stay it was just a question of sorting out terms and getting it signed as soon as possible."
