Rochdale have completed the signing of goalkeeper David Lucas following his release from Swindon.
The 33-year-old, who had a year to run on his contract at the County Ground, agreed to have it terminated by mutual consent and will join Rochdale as a player/coach.
He has signed a 12-month deal at Spotland.
Rochdale manager Steve Eyre said: "David has been with us for long periods over pre-season and we like him very much.
"Even though he still has a couple of seasons left in him he's coming towards the end of his career in playing terms and we're looking to use his knowledge and experience in a coaching role at the club as well as playing an active part in the playing squad."
Lucas joined Swindon on a free transfer from Leeds in July 2009 and his previous clubs include Preston, Sheffield Wednesday and briefly Barnsley.
