Former Wycombe right-back Russell Martin has revealed he nearly made a return to Adams Park before joining Norwich in November.
Martin played over 100 games for the club before joining Peterborough in the summer of 2008 and came close to a a second spell with the Chairboys before signing a loan deal with this weekend's opponents Norwich.
He told Wycombe's official website: "Wycombe did want to bring me back but Peterborough and Norwich had already sorted a deal. I would have loved to have returned and at a different time who knows what would have happened. But I am delighted with the move to Norwich."
He added: "Everyone knows I loved my time at Wycombe. I've kept in touch with some of the lads and I'm looking forward to seeing the usual friendly faces.
"However, for 90 minutes I am going to have to put aside my affection for the club and then afterwards I'll be able to catch up with friends."
