Leon McKenzie insists he is ready to help end Charlton's goal drought and fire the Addicks to promotion.

McKenzie, who arrived at The Valley in August on a free transfer from Coventry, made a belated debut as a substitute during Saturday's goalless draw with Oldham - Charlton's third game without finding the net.

"I know once I regain match fitness I am capable of getting goals. I've proved that throughout my career," said McKenzie.

"I feel there are goals in this team, but sometimes it's going to be frustrating because other teams always want to beat the teams at the top. So you maybe have to take the draws sometimes.

"On another day we could have won that game we had the chances. Hopefully, the goals will start flowing again and I'd love to be part of it."
