Stockport defender Jim McNulty has completed a £150,000 transfer to League One rivals Brighton.
The highly-rated rookie made 46 appearances for County and scored one goal.
He has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Seagulls and said: "I wasn't looking to move away from Stockport. I was happy there, but the persistence of both Brighton chairman Dick Knight and manager Micky Adams convinced me that this was the right move for me."
