Fans Award Winners
Both Ian and Michael were delighted to be on hand to present Beckford, League One’s outstanding performer this season, with his award at Elland Road.
In voting for Beckford for the November PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award, Ian told Givemefootball:
“The reason why I voted for Jermaine is that I think he has been fantastic for us all season so far. The award says it all – it’s a hat-trick of awards for Jermaine, this shows consistency.
He added: “He is a class act – as shown with his goal at Old Trafford. Jermaine always gives 100% and hopefully if he continues scoring goals it will play a big part in our ultimate goal – promotion.”
Michael, December’s winner, also revealed the reason behind his nomination saying:
“Jermaine is the one player that is keeping leeds in the hunt for promotion this year. His goals will be crucial for our promotion campaign this year.”
Beckford and Grayson on Award
Jermain Beckford has been instrumental so far for Leeds this season as they continue to push for an automatic promotion spot.
The Leeds striker, who has already scored 18 league goals this season, expressed his delighted at winning the awards.
Beckford said: “I’m delighted to win the award. Its nice to know that so many fans have voted for you.”
Leeds boss Simon Grayson was also delighted for Beckford saying: "I'm delighted to see Jermaine rewarded again for all his efforts with this award.
“The fact that it is voted for by the fans makes it all the more special and it shows how highly he is regarded by the Leeds supporters.
"Jermaine has played a big part for this club since I came here and it was a boost in January when he decided this is where he wants to stay and help finish the job off that he has played such a big part in."
